2017 surely is an important year for Disneyland Paris, which was launched 25 years ago. The actual anniversary took place on the 12th of April and everyone was excited to see what the parks had in store for us, me included. The park opened at 8am for every guest, and as soon as the doors opened, everyody urged to find a spot in order to watch the opening show. I was both very excited and, I have to admit it, afraid of being disappointed. Fortunately, I wasn't. The opening showThe day thus started off with a very special show that took place from Central Plaza (in front of the castle) to Main Street. Obviously Mickey and Minnie lead the way along with their friends and dancers sporting their best Disneybounds. The show celebrated each land of the park, starting with Main Street USA. At this point, characters came along, from the usual friends to the rarest buddies, joined by performers wearing the most amazing outfits. There were so many surprises that I was hard to capture every single character there. Fortunately, this wasn't the only opportunity to do so. After Main Street USA followed Frontierland, Adventureland, Discoveryland and Fantasyland. Once all the lands were celebrated, many characters came to join the party before Catherine Powell, Disneyland Paris's CEO delivered her speech praising both cast members and guests. Meeting charactersCharacter greetings were also made special on that day thanks to the amazing costuming department from Disneyland Paris. Mickey, Minnie, Chip, Dale, Goofy, Max, Donald, Daisy, Clarice, Duffy and Shellie May were all sporting very special outfits created only for this day. It was almost impossible to watch the shows and meet all the characters so I had to make a choice. The very first one was Clarice, as I had never met her before. She was wearing a gorgeous dress and hat ensemble and was particularly sassy, she was actually hard to follow during the photoshoot. Chip and Dale were also wearing special outfits, I especially loved their little bowler hats. Goofy was incredibly dapper with his three-piece suit and top hat. As for me, I was wearing April and Dinah ears, a lace dress from Y.A.S as a top and the Twinkle skirt from ThinkGeek. Finally, Duffy and Shellie May must have been the toughest to meet on that day as they were so popular, but I managed to see them very quickly thanks to an adorable friend of mine. I was amazed by how soft they were. Real-life teddy bears! The cavalcadeTwo cavalcades were scheduled on the 12th of April, a chance to have a peak at all the characters invited for the occasion. Many of them I didn't even have the time to spot on the opening show. I took many pictures and had to narrow it down to my favorites as this post would have been way longer than it is already. So there were actually much more characters parading on that day. Still, I hope you'll enjoy the peak I'm offering you! This was an amazing day, full of stress and joy, and I'm so happy I've been able to be part of it and share all the excitement with my friends. Let's hope the 30th celebration will be as magical!

A year ago, I visited Japan and I had to go to the Disney parks. Unfortunately, only one day was scheduled to visit the parks, so I had to make the most of it. There are no two parks a day tickets, so I chose a day ticket for Tokyo Disney Sea, the park I wanted to visit the most, and an after 6 pass for Disneyland. I would not advise this method actually. If you have two days to visit the parks, then it's perfect, opt for a day per park. But if you have only one day, just choose the park you prefer and spend your whole day there. When I arrived at Disneyland at 6, I could hardly see anything, it was already dark, so I could not enjoy this park, I just tried one ride and watched the night parade. I think it would have been more enjoyable for me to stay at Disney Sea and watch the night show there. Still, I had a great time discovering this amazing resort. It's so fun to walk into a Disney park that you don't know at all, especially when you're so used to visiting another park. I was lucky to visit during the soft opening of Tokyo Disney Sea's 15th anniversary, so I could enjoy a few elements of the celebration decor and the dedicated show. No huge castle in Tokyo Disney Sea, but an impressive volcano right in the center, Triton's kingdom in the Mermaid Lagoon and a gorgous Tower of Terror right at the entrance. I was lucky to come across a few characters and was pleasantly surprised that, unlike in Disneyland Paris, characters were not overwhelmed by guests, who were very respectful of them. Quite a refreshing sight! I did not try this many rides, but I really loved the one that takes place inside the volcano. It shows one element that I really liked in this resort: attention to details. There's something interesting to see wherever you lay your eyes. The rides may not be bumpy, but damn they're fascinating! The Mermaid Lagoon is one of the most famous areas from this park, and I could see why. The colours are amazing, the details are perfect. I had the chance to watch the Little Mermaid (pictures were not allowed unfortunately), and I absolutely loved it, even though it's all in Japanese, watching the whole Little Mermaid world unfold before your eyes was incredible. Even though I was globally delighted with the food during my whole trip to Japan, I did not eat that well at Disney Sea. I ate at Sebastian's Calypso Kitchen and the burgers were, just like burgers at Disneyland Paris, mainly meh. I would have rather skipped that meal and eaten snacks all day to be honest. I tasted alien shaped mochis in Tokyo Disneyland and they were absolutely delicious. The Agrabah area is definitely more impressive than Disneyland Paris's Adventureland (I absolutely love Disneyland Paris but sometimes you have to be honest, it does not compare to Tokyo Disney Sea in terms of decor). Once again, the attention to detail is amazing. My absolute favorite ride in this park was Indiana Jones. I actually rode it twice. I don't want to spoil anything so I'll just say that it's so full of suprises And that a fastpass ticket is recommanded. Many characters have dedicated photo locations, and they're very popular, it's hard to make a choice! I chose to meet Donald in his Mexican-themed lair. One thing that's also different from what I'm used to: you can't take too many pics with your own camera here, and they promote the printed and decorated pictures directly in the waiting line. The shows are so colourful it's hard not to get a smile while watching them. "A Table is waiting" (pictures below) is particularly crazy and fun to watch. As I mentioned before, I could hardly see anything at Tokyo Disneyland, but I enjoyed the nighttime parade! Here are just a few shots, as it's actually quite long! In short: Visiting this resort was a dream come true and I hope I'll be able to do it again real soon!
I never thought one single place could inspire me so much fashion wise. Disneyland Paris helped me think outside of the box and forget about people's opinion. Even though Paris is one of the most important cities in the world of fashion, it turns out people here dress is in pretty dull, dark, boring way, at least to me. I need colours, I need pastels, glitter, standout creative pieces. I started dressing up to go to Disneyland Paris to fit with the decor, the atmosphere. I then realised this was really who I was and I needed to live colourfully every single day of my life. Founding out about Disney Bounding and Dapper Day also helped me to get more creative with my way of dressing. You'll find below a little selection of my favorite Disney outfits, I hope you'll enjoy it as a little introduction of my style and way of life! |
